Designer: tuomas merikoskiinspiration : " hellsinki " the nomadic sami people from northern finland, sweden and norway and his youth which urbanizes it. traditional cultures vs modernity.focus: a play on volumes and shapes, overlapping. the baggy trouser suit with falling shoulders & rounded trousers, the short jacket that zips up, the pink dress that slips on, the suede alcantara coat creating a visionary illusionnote: the imaginary sort of "a" symbol resembling both a tent and a logo and the round artisanal patterns referencing the snowinterview from tuomas merikoski:we wanted to give a nomadic sense to the collection, so you feel isolated; you think people are miles away from you. i think there are lots people who think like that, not just the sami people, or me being finnish. so i really wanted to explore that concept through the sami people as a very interesting, perfect example. obviously i reworked our particular code, but we wanted to adapt it with a new touch and emotion, such as the famous pleated trousers. i reworked them with a pleat behind, a lower waist, which is a much more “ loungey” , relaxed, wintery, cool look. it is important for me that each piece has a function in a way.i think nowadays colour is important. i'm not in a trend to be uniform in my colour choices; i try to mix colour in a new way, so it has a real connection with the concept and inspiration. in this collection the colours were very vibrant, primary colours, representing people who live by themselves in nature, but at the same time people who are very welcoming and cheerful, so i found that interesting. music of the show, (donot reuse for more than 7 days after the show)
