Designer : Anthony VaccarelloAtmosphere: An open air show as night fell, a catwalk on the Place du Trocadéro in front of the sparkling Eiffel tower. Collection: A sharp silhouette, high heels, with short shorts and a loose blouse. We find the codes of Saint Laurent reinterpreted with audacity, with leather and shine. The cuts are close to the body, asymmetric, the waist belted. The finale makes way for a more couture feel with mini dresses and voluminous bustiers, bubble hemlines, in black, white and colour. The men are in slim trousers and short embroidered jackets or jackets taken in at the waist. A show in homage to Pierre Bergé with a message from the old Yves Saint Laurent campaign left on the rows of seats: ‘Maybe this is crazy love, crazy love of two’.To note: The embroidered multicoloured sequin jacket, the below knee slouchy boots and stiletto heel, covered in marabou feathers. The embroidered asymmetrical dress, the leather shorts (the centerpiece of the collection) and the lace blouse. The presence of many celebrities of which Lenny Kravitz, Aymeline Valade, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell were in the front row. And Kaia Gerber who made her first appearance on the Parisian catwalks. Interview with Aymeline Valade:For the collection, I was super impressed because there were many things that I’d never seen before, the ideas that he had, the structure, the volume, the architecture. The fact that it we faced the Eiffel tower during the show I think that’s really maybe the most beautiful homage to ever be given to the city of Paris. For me, it’s the French sophistication, modern, but also rock and roll. And I saw all of the references to Saint Laurent, they were shown one after the other but reinterpreted in an ultra-modern way. What he brings to the house is actually continuity, it’s not an addition just a revival and that’s why I think it’s one of the most beautiful homages which has ever been done to Saint Laurent this evening. That is to say that he’s left what Saint Laurent offered and he’s transformed it into something very 2017 and we’re in this society which a bit structured, deconstructed, and we find this notion in the clothes, bravo!
